What is My Saint Mary’s?

My Saint Mary’s is a web portal. A portal is, very broadly, a one page gateway that connects you to SMC services and information.

The My Saint Mary’s Portal allows for single sign on, meaning you only have to sign on once to the portal to connect to your SMC email, SMCnet, GaelLearn, GaelXpress and GaelCal. 

My Saint Mary’s will not just present you with access to the services you already use from one central location, but also go a step further and help you discover other services that are either new, or that you just didn't realize were available.

Why MUST I logout of the portal after each use?

Because the portal enables single sign on to many SMC services (GaelXpress, Email, GaelLearn) your connections will stay active until you sign out. Signing out guarantees no one will have access to your private SMC services. To sign out click the "Logout" link at the top of the page.

Why do I receive a message about secure and non-secure items when I use the My Saint Mary's Portal?

This typically happens when using the Internet Explorer browser. It is fine to just click to acknowledge the message to move forward. Some of our portlets pull in information from the main public Saint Mary's website and this information is not encrypted. That's what generates the pop up warning. Be assured that all sensitive information retrieved from the SMC internal systems are protected with encryption.

What browsers are supported?

Internet Explorer version 6 is no longer supported! Please upgrade your browser.
The latest versions of FireFox, Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer (JavaScript enabled) are supported.
My Saint Mary's uses the latest web technologies and will be upgraded continually to accommodate new features. Therefore, it is a good idea to use the most recent version of your browser.

What’s my My Saint Mary’s username and password?
Use your Saint Mary’s username and password to log into My Saint Mary’s – the same username and password you use to access your email. If you forgot your password you can reset it at http://www.stmarys-ca.edu/password.

Trouble logging in?

  • Be certain you are using your Saint Mary's username and password. The login name is the first part of your e-mail address. For example, the login name for the e-mail address jdoe@stmarys-ca.edu isjdoe.
  • Passwords are case-sensitive. Be certain that the Caps Lock function on your keyboard is not active.
  • If you are not sure you have the correct password for your account, please contact the IT Services Service Desk at helpdesk@stmarys-ca.edu or (925) 631-4266. You may also reset your password at http://www.stmarys-ca.edu/password.
